Technical and Regulatory Issues Associated with Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)

This presentation will summarize the technical and regulatory challenges associated with the treatment and assessment of PFAS in environmental media. Emphasis will be placed on the approach to a preliminary assessment, site assessment techniques and lessons learned, and the importance of building a conceptual site model.
Eric Sager is a licensed professional geologist in Florida with 22 years of experience in the environmental industry. His practice includes site investigations, conceptual site model development, feasibility studies, remedial designs and implementation, and long-term monitoring for sites contaminated by volatile organic compounds, petroleum hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, pesticides, herbicides, metals, PFAS, and other constituents of concern in various media. He is currently working on some of the largest PFAS sites identified in Florida, including fire training facilities.
